Hungarian Government follows Udo Voigt’s footsteps

Free EU-prepaid creditcards for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants: Hungary also demands explanation

In Hungary, too, reports of the mass distribution of free prepaid creditcards by the EU to illegal immigrants currently on the Balkan route to Central Europe are causing concern and outrage. The Hungarian government parties Fidesz and the Christian Democrats (KDNP) have now demanded an explication by the EU-Commission. They follow the German NPD MEP Udo Voigt, who had already submitted a written question on the same topic last week.

In Hungary, the credit card issue was last discussed by the Chairman of the Defense and Law Enforcement Committee of the Hungarian Parliament, Lajos Kósa. Kósa referred to reports of tens of thousands of prepaid creditcards made available to illegal immigrants by the European Commission and the UNHCR (UNHCR). The credit cards are used by immigrants on the „Balkan route“. Sponsors are said to be the big speculator George Soros, various „relief organizations“ and the US credit card company Mastercard.

The Budapest government, too, now wants to know from the EU-Commission where the cards came from, what sums of money are deposited on them and what reasons there are for the apparent secrecy. The Hungarian government spokesman Holik also warned in this context that the free credit cards for migrants could finance terrorism.

Udo Voigt, encouraged by the initiative from Budapest, said: „It is an incomprehensible scandal that the EU is campaining against President Viktor Orbán, while at the same time the Eu is luring millions of uninvited guests to Europe with ever more agressive methods. In the same time, Europeans face more social insecurity, lower pensions and lower social benefits for the poor.“
