The Eurocrats want to stay among themselves
With all dirty tricks against the NPD: the EU-Parliament gives the go-ahead for an election treshold
Hardly a day goes by where EU-representatives do not express their commitment to the „democratic values“ of the Union. But in reality, democracy is increasingly strangled and eroded by the Eurocrats.

The European Parliament today issued a resolution in Straatsburg under the harmless-sounding title „Reform of the Electoral Law of the European Union“. But one of the central points is the introduction of an election treshold, which is to be organized by the legislations in the member countries. However, it is a public secret that the Federal Government of Germany has lobbied with extreme force over the last few years with the European partners for this, after the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany had removed an existing three-percent-election threshold for the last European elections in 2014. By today’s parliamentary decision, which was taken against the voices of almost all right-wing MPs, the German federal government will be authorized to reintroduce an election threshold, through the European backdoor, especially to hurt smaller parties.
The German NPD MEP Udo Voigt underlined in a first opinion: „Everyone knows that the reintroduction of an election threshold in the European elections is a ‚Lex NPD‘, which is solely aimed at silencing the voice of the only true German opposition party in the European Parliament.“
The head of the NPD Legal Department, Peter Richter, makes clear the battle is not over: „The established rulers must have great fear for NPD & Co., if they use once again undemocratic and dirty tricks to keep critical parties from the European Parliament. They once again deeply disregard the settled case law of the German Federal Constitutional Court. If the German federal legislator indeed transposes the European electoral law into German national law, the National Democrats will start again a procedure against this new election threshold at the German federal Constitutional Court, the Bundesverfassungsgericht, in Karlsruhe. The ruling political class doesn’t seem to have suffered enough defeats there, so they need one more. “
