„Fundamental rights are for everyone! „

Hypocritical debate in the European Parliament / Martin Schulz is brought to Court for discrimination of Russians

During this week’s plenary session in Strasbourg, the European parliament has again some controversial issues on the agenda. One of it was, last Monday, a Commission report on the „situation of fundamental rights in the EU“. This remarkable document provides a revealing example of the double standards and the hypocrisy in EU-policy, where one asks even harsher repression against groups and individual personalities who are loyal to their country, disguised as calls for „tolerance“.  Of course, on the other hand, sexual and immigrant minorities should be promoted – so claims the document – with force. Fortunately, the debate of several hours strengthened the opposition to the official EU line.

MEP Udo Voigt of the NPD criticized in his speech the hypocrisy of the Brussels politics and denounced, among other things, the imprisonment of political opponents (as in Greece and Austria), the imprisonment of Horst Mahler in the Federal German Republic for crimes of thought,  and the 12,000 juridical procedures against patriotic citizens in Germany every year.  As long as people are discriminated against, based on their political opinions, on such a massive scale in EU-countries, any debate on the „situation of fundamental rights“ is ridiculous. „Fundamental rights are for everyone!“, Voigt said.

To help the EU in observing its own fundamental rights, the NPD deputy has turned now to the European Court of Justice (ECJ). As mentioned earlier, President Martin Schulz (SPD) of the European Parliament issued in June this year a formal ban against Russian politicians who wanted to attend, at the invitation of Voigt, a  press conference in the buildings of the European Parliament in Brussels, together with representatives of Europe’s established „Alliance for Peace and Freedom“ (APF).   Udo Voigt sees this as a clear discrimination against ‚unpopular‘ foreigners and also a flagrant violation of the rights of a Deputy to do his duty.  Attorney Peter Richter has recently filed the claim by MEP Voigt against President Schultz at the European Court of Justice under number DC44772.
