The European Parliament hides the true masterminds behind the Iran crisis
The world is witnessing a sad tragedy these weeks: while the EU and the Tehran government are holding on to the so-called “nuclear deal” with Iran, the US government under President Trump does everything to try to sabotage the fragile agreement. Only recently, Washington used the recent riots in Iran as a pretext for new sanctions on Tehran.
The official position of the EU, which was also presented in a general debate in Straatsburg by the European Parliament on the situation in Iran by numerous speakers of the established parties, is completely inadequate for German NPD MEP Udo Voigt, because it does not mention the geopolitical background. It completely hides the co-responsibility of the West for the difficult economic situation the country is facing. In his speech, Voigt recalled decades of Western sanctions against Iran, and drew parallels with Western interference in other crisis scenes.
Literally, Voigt said, “We know it from the Maidan, we know it from the lands of the ‘Arab Spring,’ and now it’s Iran’s turn. They are always very quick with sanctions at hand – against Russia, against Iran, against Syria. But where are the sanctions against other states that violate human rights and commit war crimes: the United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Israël? “It is time’, Voigt said, ‘to lift all sanctions against Tehran, and: ‘Give Iran another chance!’
In addition to Udo Voigt, more speakers of right-wing parties spoke against any interference in the internal affairs of Iran.
